Have you ever heard a child scream out, “Look, Mom; no hands!” as they rode their bike carelessly with their arms flapping freely in the breeze? If you have, then you probably know what generally happened next, a big crash followed by a banshee scream.

This demonstrates perfectly the way people go about living their lives without God. They, like the child above, live life carelessly. However, instead of neglecting to hang on to handlebars, they neglect to hang on to God all the while screaming, “Look guys, no God!”, not knowing that what awaits them in the end is doom and darkness.

Sometimes, those who live life without God don’t face the repercussions of doing so until they take the final fall in death. Then, unfortunately, there is nothing they can do to fix their problems resulting from their carelessness. However, some people suffer from trying to live without God now. Bad relationships, broken homes, addiction, murder, fornication, stress/depression, job loss, diseases, teenage pregnancy, abortion, divorce, suicide, malice, homosexuality, narcissism, and greed, are just a few examples of the things people can suffer from who try to live life without hanging on to God.

Please, thoughtfully read these few scriptures which describe the fate of those who live life without God. “19 The way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know over what they stumble (Proverbs 5:19 ESV). “22 The iniquities of the wicked ensnare him, and he is held fast in the cords of his sin. 23 He dies for the lack of discipline, and because of his great at folly he is led astray” (Proverbs 5:22-23 ESV). “[W]hen the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might” (2 Thessalonians 1:6-9 ESV).

However, if you have fallen in life and are suffering from living life without God, don’t just get back up and try to life without Him again. No, actually think about your past and your future. Is life really that good without God? What led you to the state you are in right now? Who do you think offers a better life, you, left to your own devices, or God, who loves you unconditionally?

I am not going to lie, getting back up after you have fallen is hard to do when there is no one there to help you. However, Jesus is there to help you. He not only wants to help you in this life but in the life to come. You just have to accept Him and live life according to His way instead of your own. Please, come to Christ and allow Him to heal your wounds and free your soul.

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matt. 11:28-30). “6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:6-7).
